Estonian company Auve Tech has officially launched its MiCa autonomous shuttle in West Palm Beach, Florida, marking the company's entry into the U.S. market. MiCa, a Level 4 autonomous vehicle, is now operating on a 1.5 km route in open traffic, equipped with U.S. license plates.
This pilot program is a collaborative effort between Auve Tech and technology partner Guident, which provides real-time remote monitoring solutions to enhance safety and efficiency. The initiative aims to collect real-world data, improve safety, and redefine smart, sustainable transit in urban environments.
"The autonomous vehicles we developed in Estonia are now commonplace in Japan, and increasingly in Europe and the Middle East. Entering the United States market represents a significant step for our company and the Estonian automotive industry," said Väino Kaldoja, Founder of Auve Tech.
The City of West Palm Beach is enthusiastic about hosting this urban transportation pilot, showcasing innovation in addressing evolving transportation challenges.
