A new report from Unicorns Lithuania paints an ambitious picture for the country’s tech future. With the right infrastructure, Lithuania could triple its startup count, add over €5 billion in tax revenue, and attract more than €1.3 billion in new investments by 2030. The engine behind this growth? Artificial intelligence.
AI is already becoming a defining force in Lithuania’s innovation landscape, but the report highlights a critical challenge that continues to limit momentum. While the number of active startups is growing, the rate of new startup formation is slowing. Early-stage founders, especially those working in AI, are still struggling to secure the foundational support they need to scale.
Incubators such as ROCKIT are seeing this firsthand. An increasing number of AI-focused teams are entering the ecosystem, but many are still in need of early-stage funding, idea validation, and product development resources. Without these, the transition from concept to company becomes a steep climb.
To unlock its full AI potential, Lithuania must now double down on:
stronger support structures for early-stage startups
talent pipelines aligned with AI technologies
streamlined regulatory environments that make innovation easier
If these elements align, Lithuania is poised to become a major player in the European AI space. The opportunity is vast, but the moment to act is now.
