Lithuania is making significant waves in the global startup landscape, as highlighted by two recent international reports from Dealroom and StartupBlink. These findings reaffirm Lithuania’s reputation as one of the fastest-growing and most promising innovation ecosystems in Europe.
According to Dealroom, Vilnius has been identified as the fastest-growing tech city in the European Union, underlining the capital’s dynamic startup environment and increasing investor interest. Lithuania now ranks 13th globally for ecosystem growth and 3rd in Europe, following only Kyiv and Istanbul.
In the 2025 Global Startup Ecosystem Index by StartupBlink, Lithuania ranks 3rd globally and 1st in Europe for cybersecurity. The country is also positioned in the Top 15 worldwide for marketing and sales talent and continues to be a frontrunner in fintech across the EU. Additionally, life sciences and gametech are rapidly accelerating, adding further momentum to the ecosystem’s diversification.
The Lithuanian startup ecosystem has reached a total valuation of €16 billion, marking a 39-fold increase over the past decade. This growth reflects strong national policies, deep tech capabilities, and increasing international confidence in Lithuania as a hub for innovation.
As Karolina Urbonaitė, Head of Startup Lithuania, stated in a recent article, these rankings are more than just flattering—they serve as a call to level up. She added that Lithuania is becoming a trusted innovation exporter, investor partner, and talent hub, and that this momentum should push the ecosystem to continue evolving with ambition.
At Emerging Nordic Ventures, we keep a close eye on Baltic-wide developments and are encouraged by Lithuania’s consistent upward trajectory. The country’s combination of scalable innovation, international partnerships, and supportive infrastructure makes it a highly attractive destination for early-stage investment.
